It's really been an exhilarating couple of days for me and, I'm sure, for all Wisconsin Democrats. Two weeks after 22 states held their primaries and caucuses on one day, it's so exciting that right now Wisconsin matters in such a big way. The Democratic nominees are here and the nation's eyes are on us!

We’re no strangers to snow here in Wisconsin. Usually even in heavy storms our lives move at the regular pace. But last Wednesday, Madison experienced a blizzard that shut the whole city down. By evening, even the Metro Bus system had to call it quits.

Yesterday afternoon, as I walked to the floor for a vote, I passed a TV monitor in a colleague’s waiting room. Reporters were discussing the upcoming State of the Union address. The headline on the screen read "salvaging a legacy."
